Own your life - Then Rock it - One habit at a time

Why one-size-fits-all shouldn't be a thing

There is no one-size-fits-all.

No matter what size you are (you know this is definitely true for clothes!)

But it’s also true for relationships. We’re all unique. We all have our own preferences, quirks, sensitivities, opinions, needs.

And yet, we’ve all learned to *treat others like you would treat yourself*

Pardon my French – but that’s total BS in so many ways...

For one thing: if we’d start treating others like we treat ourselves, we would very soon have no friends left #bitchyselftalk 🥴

But even if we would manage to only shower others with the few nice things we do for ourselves, they might not be relevant to the other person at all.

Let me give you an example; When my husband and I decide to snack less (#goodintentions), what I need is a snack-free house. When I don’t see them, I’ll crave them less  (and I’m waaay too lazy to go to the shops just for snacks 😂)

My husband, on the other hand, gets motivated by boldly refusing the stare of said snacks on the counter.

So we have an intermediate solution now, where the snacks are in the house, sneakily staring back at my husband’s icy glare, but without being front and center — so I can pretend they’re not there 😉

Because one size doesn’t fit all.

What works for you, might not work for someone else.

So let’s stop *treating each other like we would treat ourselves*

Let’s start treating people like the unique creatures they are, and invest energy into finding out what they like/need/prefer/... instead!

You got this!
