Own your life - Then Rock it - One habit at a time

Sometimes, the next best solution - IS the best solution

I'm a recovering perfectionist.

I'm learning that sometimes the next best thing - is actually the best thing.

And yup - that's work in progress.

Yes, some things have to be perfect.

You want the top-notch surgeon for your procedure. You want the best engineer to calculate the stability of that new bridge. And if you're anything like me, you only want the best spaghetti bolognese in town. The second best really won't do.

But haven't we taken things a bit too far?

Everything has to be 'just so'.

The new hire. The new tablet. The way your husband loads the dishwasher.

How can you go for good quality without setting yourself up for frustration?

More and more, I realize that for most things, done is better than perfect.

Sometimes the next best solution - really IS the best solution - at least for now.

It's better to have an imperfect website, than none at all.

It's better to experiment with new skills - and learn as you go - than to wait until you magically become perfect at something overnight.

It's better to have a nice dinner, than a perfectly loaded dishwasher.

Whenever you find yourself getting frustrated over the imperfection of something, ask yourself:

Isn't it better done than perfect?

How good does this really have to be - at this moment?

There's always a possibility to improve things later - but maybe you find out that you don't have to.

You got this!
